AMERICAN CIVIL WAR...
The picture to your left shows the flags of both the Confederacy armed forces and militia, and the Union armed forces and militia. Underneath the flags shows the title of the Civil War, and when it was at its biggest firefights and battles, the year 1863. That is when both forces where heavily armed, severely trained, and highly skilled fighters and soldiers that would die for what each would believed in. Under the title is two generals of each side, no specific names. One is the Confederate (Southern flag, Crossed and stared) the other, the Union (Traditional American flag) in the background of the two you see the nation of the United States of America. Which was torn during the middle of this time period.
The Civil War, A nation Divided:
The Civil War began on April 12, 1861 at exactly 4:31 A.M. as Confederate forces, led by Robert E. Lee, fired upon Union forces at Fort Sumter. The reason most people thought the war was started because of the slavery issue that President Abraham Lincoln of the Republican party was trying to end. Sure, that played a big role in the war, but yet was not the primary key of the secession between the Union and Confederate (North and South). As you read throughout this website, you should be able to understand what happened during the war the began in 04-12-1861 and when the last shot was fired on 09-22-1865. Thanks!
